Porcelain Veneers

Natural-Looking Veneers, Designed for You

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells designed to cover the front of your teeth and enhance your smile. Made from strong, stain-resistant porcelain, they closely mimic the look and feel of natural enamel, making them a popular choice for treating discoloured, chipped, uneven, or slightly misaligned teeth.

The process usually takes two to four visits, depending on whether there is a need for digital planning (Digital Smile Design and Smile Try) or not. Once the planning phase is done, our dentist gently prepares the teeth and takes a digital scan, and then, at a second appointment, the veneers are bonded in place. They are highly personalised — you and your dentist will work together to choose the right shape, size, and shade to suit your face and smile.

Porcelain veneers are known for their durability and long-lasting aesthetic results. With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, they can last many years. While they are strong, it’s best to avoid biting very hard objects to keep them in great condition. Compared to composite veneers, porcelain offers a more permanent, natural-looking result — but as with any cosmetic treatment, it’s important to talk to your dentist to make sure they are the right option for you.

What happens

at the time of the appointment

Your porcelain veneer treatment is usually carried out over two to four appointments.

1

When you visit us for porcelain veneers, we will start by taking a digital scan of your teeth and some smile and full-face photos. This helps your dentist begin designing your new smile.

2

Your scan is sent to our trusted lab, where skilled technicians work closely with your dentist to create a personalised digital smile design — making sure everything is just right for you. At your second visit, you will get to “try on” your new smile using a temporary material. We will take some photos, talk through how it looks, and then gently remove the material. You will receive the photos to share with loved ones and take your time deciding. When you are happy with the look, we will book your treatment.

3

Once you are happy with the plan of your new smile, the dentist gently shapes the surface of the teeth to make room for the veneers and takes a detailed digital scan. These are sent to the dental lab, where your custom veneers are crafted to match your smile. You will leave with temporary veneers that look and feel natural while your final ones are being made.

4

At your next appointment, we remove the temporary veneers and try in the final porcelain ones to check the fit, colour, and shape. Once everything looks perfect, the veneers are bonded securely to your teeth. We finish by polishing them and checking your bite to ensure a comfortable, natural result.

You will walk out with a brand-new smile—no downtime needed.

FAQs

How many visits will I need?

In most cases, patients need three-four appointments from start to finish for porcelain veneers.

Is it an invasive treatment?

It is mildly invasive, since the dentist will have to file down a little bit of the enamel of your tooth.

Does it hurt?

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia, so you won’t feel any pain during treatment. After the preparation stage, some temporary sensitivity is normal, especially to temperature. This usually settles once the final porcelain veneers are fitted and your teeth adjust to the new restorations.

Will I need local anaesthetic for this treatment?

Yes, due to the light preparation of the teeth and the nature of the cementation of the veneers, it is highly recommended to get local anaesthesia.

How long do porcelain veneers last?

Well maintained porcelain veneers can last many-many years. The average lifespan is around 10 -15 years.

What is covered under guarantee?

The warranty covers issues related to the fit, fracture, or failure of the veneer due to material or workmanship problems. If a veneer chips, cracks, or comes off under normal use, we will repair or replace it within the first 3 years.

However, it doesn’t cover damage caused by accidents, trauma, teeth grinding (bruxism), or neglect—such as poor oral hygiene or missed maintenance visits. Wearing a night guard (if recommended) and attending regular check-ups are conditions of the warranty.
