DENTAL IMPLANTS

Single Implants

BESPOKE DENTAL, MALAHIDE

Dental Implants have revolutionised the replacement of missing teeth. The brilliant idea came from no other source but Mother Nature herself! Dental implants replicate the basic anatomy of a tooth, which no other treatment alternative can offer. The dental implant itself is a titanium screw that replaces the root part of the tooth. It is placed surgically into the jawbone, and then, after a couple of months recovery time, it is topped with a beautifully crafted ceramic crown.

A dental implant can replace one missing tooth, but as few as four implants can replace all the upper or lower teeth. The number depends on the quality and size of your jawbone. The longer the dental implant, the fewer dental implants needed to support the replacement of many teeth.

What happens

at the time of the appointment

1

Due to the nature of the procedure, we work in a sterile environment. It means, after you’ve got comfortable in the dentist chair and the surgical area has been numbed, you will be covered with a sterile surgical drape.

2

TV is on, and you are ready to go. During the surgery, you might feel some pressure and vibration due to the drills and the taste of salty water, which is the irrigation we use to cool the instruments.

3

Once the implant has been seated, you will get some stitches to close the area, and that is it.

4

All the post-surgical information will be explained, and a little goodie bag will wait for you at the reception.

Aftercare

We will provide you with all the information you need after your surgery is done. If you have any questions or if you are unsure about anything regarding the aftercare instructions, please feel free to reach out to us: reception@bespokedental.ie or call 018061312

After a consultation with our implant specialist, we generally see our patients 4 times for their implant treatments:

  1. 1

    The surgery

  2. 2–3 weeks
  3. 2

    Check-up / suture removal

  4. 3–6 months

  6. 2–3 weeks
  7. 4

How long will it take from start to finish to have my implant and the crown done?

While every case is different, in most cases we get everything done within 4 - 7 months’ time.

How long do dental implants last?

A well-placed and properly cared-for implant can last 10 - 15 years or more — and many last 25 years to a lifetime.

Why are they so expensive?

At Bespoke Dental we only work with the very best materials. We only use premium titanium implants from market-leading brands. We also work with a high-end laboratory to create the best quality implant crowns possible. Remember, your dental implants can last up to a lifetime.

How should I prepare myself for the surgery?

Make sure you pick a date when you can take it easy for a couple of days after. No heavy lifting, no strenuous exercise, a lot of rest and little to no stress. You can buy reusable icepacks for cooling the surgery site after the procedure, or make sure that you have some frozen peas and a kitchen towel to fill in for this role. You will be prescribed a course of antibiotics prior the surgery appointment, we will make sure that you have sufficient time to pick it up from your preferred pharmacy.

Most importantly: If you have any questions before the appointment, feel free to reach out, we are more than happy to help you with anything. Our priority is to make sure that you are confident, comfortable and calm by the time you come in for your appointment.
